Philip and Marina moved to South America in 2008, leaving behind their London jobs and home to go in search of adventure. They rode about the foothills of the Andes in Salta, hiked the altiplano in Peru and Bolivia, drove the wilds of Patagonia and lived up the urban delights of Buenos Aires. First with one son and eventually three boys in tow, they tried to show their children the magic of this wild continent, always in search of new adventure. Their clothing brand WADDLER was born of these meanderings, as was a passion for colour, flavour, language and music. After four years, a tip off took them to Bahia in North East Brazil and a small island called Boipeba. They fell in love with this unspoiled and magical corner of South America and decided to call it home. The boys grew up to the sight of fireflies lighting up the garden in spring, rollicking in the crystal blue seas of summer and gathering the falling avocados and jamelao in Autumn.
Their home Araçá Azul, a three year labour of love, was lived in until the boys grew bigger and they moved inland to the Chapada Diamantina, a Jurassic landscape of mountains and waterfalls. Here, they built a new home, inspired by the materials and architecture of the Brazilian Sertão and surrounded by a vast national park and endless adventure in every direction.
Now with the family at a new stage, both of these beautiful homes are available to enjoy, as well as their guest cottages which can be rented together or separately.

They want you to experience all the magic of Bahia in the same way they have. Unlike most property rentals in Bahia we offer a range of experiences customised to your interests.

We can cater to families, groups of friends and couples. Our houses have staff who can cook, shop for you and guide you on local trails.
We have lived in both locations and know these communities intimately. So we can recommend experiences and arrange for locals to provide them to you. Massage, personal yoga or pilates classes, saunas, horse riding, private plane hire, week long hikes, indigenous ceremonies - you name it, we can organise it. We can also help with tricky logistics in getting from one place to another. Please just call us and let us help.
